I was born, raised, and continue to live in the midwestern United States.

I adopted a vegetarian diet in my mid-30s.  (Why?  Long story short: I finally found a spiritual path that felt like home [Buddhism] – and one of the primary ethical guidelines of this path involves non-harming other living beings.  So, no killing animals = vegetarian.)

I converted to full-on veganism in 2013. (Why? Long story short: During a road trip, I drove past two different semi trucks that were packed tall and deep with livestock.  [Specifically chickens and pigs.]  I saw first-hand how miserable and cruel this treatment was – and I could no longer pretend that consuming animal products was any more humane than eating their flesh.  So, no eating animal products = veganism.)

I’m married.  My husband isn’t vegan.  It’s okay.  It’s his choice/life/path.

I’m a mama to two dogs. (Toy poodles.) They are not vegan.  It’s okay.  They are dogs.  They need meat to be healthy.

I work for a Fortune 500 business.  This isn’t intended to impress anyone, only to illustrate that any person can live a vegan lifestyle if they choose to do so, regardless of their profession. [In other words, veganism isn’t only for hippies.]

I started this blog because I wanted a place to document vegan recipes that are tasty, easy, and fast.  Recipes I have tried and enjoyed.  Recipes I will likely want to make again, and/or share with others.  Like you.
